It really depends on the location of the fibroid. Even small fibroids in the right (or wrong) location can cause major problems, whereas larger fibroids in different locations could go almost entirely unnoticed. It's good to get extra tests just in case, though.

i know that this post is old , but i am actually having the same situation with the same symptoms. it has to be the fibroids

I have just been told after a ultrascan that i have a small fibroid (4mm) , i keep getting a painful lower back , needing to go to the toilet all the time , pelvic pressure , heavy rushing periods and sometimes 2 periods a month , servere pain that i had to go to A&E 3 times , these times i got a rash and burning hands and feet . swollen tummy (gone up a size ).Can this small fibroid cause all these symptoms ?? or can it be anything else ?? they are doing more test at the moment.
