Hey everyone, I have cyst on one of my overies, and fibroids in my uterus. I have been to several doctors, one wanted to take my whole uterus out and leave in one of my overies. Another doctor did tons of tests to determine if and what i had. Finally i found a doctor who did more teats. I still have a cyst that he stated was a bleeding cyst. Was not concerned with it at all when all of the other doctors thought it could become cancerous. The fibroids, are not very big, had another test last week will know more tomorrow. Hopfully it is good news. Like you I have been trying to get pregnant as well with nothing. I had a friend at work who used to be an emergency nurse, she told me I would have the fibroids till I started Menopause, then they would go away. another friend told me not to worry it was just something natural that happens. I have been through a lot like eveyone in the last year. And was also told to go on the pill for three to four months and that this would take the fibroids away. I am going to ask my doc about this one. Also he does not think that the fibroids are keeping me from getting pregnant, mabey I am not ovalating as I should, get a ovalation kit . Every doctor has something diffrent to say. I know in the end that this experiance has made me a stronger person, and I hope that being able to chat , read letters that I/we are not the only people going through this. I t helps. I am in no way tell in any one to go on the pill to solve anything, but ask, read. be, informed , ask questions, I didn't listen to just one doctor. For anyone who wants to answer, surgery what is envolved? What did you go through , how long did it take ?, what if any were the precausions? recovery time etc... Thanks reanna

Fibroids were what kept me from getting pregnant. After a year with an endocronoligist, some surgery and some fertility drugs, we have two wonderful little boys.

I amn 39 years old and my partner and I have been trying for a baby for 3 years. I have had two laparoscopy proceedures in just over a year with diagnosed endometriosis. Today I went to have a scan as we are now looking to start down the road of IVF. My scan showed an endometriosis cyst and about 4 fibroids. The largest being on the outside of my womb and about 4 inches long and the smallest is on the inside of my womb at 1 inch long. This small one is apparently just at the point where an egg would rest to begining development having been fertilised. Could this be the problem to my infertility. Am I too old for IVF and is there anything I can do to help me get pregnant. I am dreading another operation but if this will help I will. Can I start IVF with these fibroids my Doctors seems to think possibly but I think I need more reasurance. I also have lupus and time seems to be ticking faster than normal.
