"It is our choices Harry, that show what we truly are, far more than our abilities"Originally posted by: RonjaI had the same symtomps: Heavy bleeding every three weeks and intolerable pain. It appeared to be fibroids. Now I am being treated with an anti-hormon once a month for three months. It normally causes a false menopause, but because I'm about to go into my natural menopause, the injections just promote it. I am going to have my last injection tomorrow and then be tested by ultra sound again in a month to see if the fibroids have been shrinking. I think they have because I haven't had a really heavy period within the latest 5-6 weeks. Now I'm bleeding less and sweating more. I'm not displeased with that change. You can easilier compensate for loss of fluid than loss of blood.

I am replying to your e-mail, and just letting you know all I know. Heavy bleeding is a sympton of uterine fibroids, and that is the main reason I went to the doctor. I was having a period every 3 weeks and bleeding heavily. She found the fibroids, and made me an appointment for a ultra sound. I will know more next week after the ultra sound.

For heavy uterine bleeding, try getting more sleep than you usually get, stay away from really heavy meals that tax your digestive system, limit dairy and caffeine, and try using an herb called Shepherd's Purse to stop the bleeding.(see a qualified herb store/naturopathic doctor for more info on herbs)

In addition to seeing a qualified GYN, you MUST also look into nutritional healing (simple diet changes and exercise) and enzyme treatments. Do a google search for enzyme treatment for uterine fibroids, check out Dr. William Wong's website: www.dr.wong.info. and consider detox and homeopathic treatments which are gentle and much less EXPENSIVE and invasive than surgical procedures.

You should see your OB-GYN. Heavy bleeding is one of the most common symptoms of uterine fibroids. An abdominal ultrasound will confirm fibroids.

I've experienced abnormal, heavy periods for a while now. Is there any way to figure out if what I'm experiencing is a symptom of a uterine fibroid? What other conditions could cause this? Thank you for any help.
