Hi Sherri, I read your post and thought wow, this is me.............I had a hysterectomy in 2002 December....my overies were good so they stayed.................I am now since last check up have gotten cysts on my overies which were about 2 cm. I really dont want to lose them ovaries because they do keep some estrogen so we can stay young......lol.............anyway, I have to just watch them with each visit.....................I also didnt know they had to do a pap on the walls so it is important to get check ups........he said we will watch them and not to worry too much especially since I am 53 theyWILL take them out............I hope you receive this reply....................take care Lynn

Hi everyone. I was wondering if anyone out there had been diagnosed with an ovarian cyst after having a hysterectomy. (I have one on my right ovary that is 5cm of size.) I just had my partial hysterctomy in Sept ('04) and cannot understand how such a thing can be there. It was not there when I had my ultrasound before the surgery, but wah-lah, there it is. I've had some symptoms this past month or two which prompted the cat scan that show's the cyst. It really bothers me that after deciding to keep my ovaries- that I am now having problems with my ovaries. Needless to say, I'm a bit upset. I hope that someone answers to this whether from their own experience or from anothers they know. Thank you. Sherri
