Years ago, I had an abnormal PAP smear and was found to have HPV. The dr. did a colposcopy and a biopsy. The result was laser removal of pre-cancerous cells. Approx 5 yrs later, I was experiencing heavier and heavier bleeding. The dr. found a fibroid tumor the size of a grapefruit in my uterus. This was removed. Again a few years later, I bled heavier and heavier until I was bleeding for 28 out of 30 days and when I was saturating a super plus tampon in less than 1 hour the dr. finally agreed to a hysterectomy. It was a partial hysterectomy. The dr. then told me (after the surgery) that I had endometriosis. Again about 5 years later, I am experiencing abdominal pains and spotting. The dr. has decided to start with a sonogram. What are the chances that I have HPV again or this has progressed? I had not been to the gyn since the surgery. Is the sonogram the right place to start? He feels that he cannot rule out an intestinal issue such as Crohn's. Help!
